Inspired by vintage sports apparel, the “Athletic Department” lineup by Nike Sportswear brings old school styling to a series of favourites from the Swoosh. Unlike other offerings, however, the most recent Air Force 1 “Athletic Department” features a muted, near-uniform finish across the upper. Beige suede covers everything from the forefoot to the heel, with profile swooshes and Achilles’ Heel overlays interrupting in an off white leather. Exposed foam tongues help vintage branding on the sock-liner and spine take wearers to the past, while the “aged” midsole does as well.
